Summer Camp 2014:
Space Academy, an Actor’s Guide to the Galaxy

How to aliens talk? How do they walk? How do they dress? How do you move and walk without gravity… on stage? How do you represent a black hole on stage? These are just a few questions that we asked the kids at Face 2 Face summer camp 2014, inpsired by the novel The Actor’s Guide to the Galaxy, Star Wars, Star Trek, WALL-E and Men in Black, just to name a few.

Our space explorers travelled through space and time to understand the curiosities of the universe. We met nice aliens and not-so-nice aliens, super heroes and super robots who taught us the importance of working together, taking care of our planet, and looking for peace.

Perhaps the most fun was had while designing and constructing the alien and robot costumes.  We found many different ways to recycle aluminum foil.  The camp participants were also in charge of constructing the set each week.  All of that while memorizing their lines and learning old rock n’ roll songs!
