Summer Camp 2013:
Around the World in 80 days
As in Jules Verne’s novel, our show followed the advetures of Philieas Fogg in his attempt to travel around the world in just 80 days. Each week we followed Fogg and his friends to the four corners of the world, through different countries and different cultures.
Fogg’s journey started in London, in a very special car, equipped with wings that took him all the way to Egypt. After escaping the tiger pit in Tuthankhamun’s castle, Fogg and his new found friends, Pasporteau and Fatima, boarded a ship bound for Bollywood, India. From India they went to China, then on to Japan, and finally North America before returning home to England.
The kids enjoyed learning several songs each week, complete with choreography. Each week the shows included more than 60 actors, but the kids did so much more than act. They were in charge of designing and constructing the set, props and costumes, too.
